Against a colorful backdrop of contemporary art exhibits and live music, Senior Vice President and Dean of City Year Charlie Rose welcomed nearly 100 guests to the annual City Year Alumni & Friends Fundraiser on Friday, April 8th.
Alumni and friends of City Year reunited in the name of service for a night of laughter and reminiscing. Guests enjoyed good conversation, food, drinks, and great raffle prizes! Lucky individuals left with some amazing prizes. Among the prizes raffled off:
- art pieces created by City Year '02-'03 alumnus Matthew Bush
- flight lessons
- iPad 2
Though senior corps member Craig Tinker left empty handed, he still had a great time. He summed up his experience by saying:
"I really enjoyed the opportunity to meet people who served with City Year throughout the years. It reminds me that the work we do is bigger than me and this year - it's a movement."
By the night's end, the CYDC Alumni Association raised almost $4,000! The money raised will help City Year Washington, DC as it continues to grow to serve more Washington, DC students.
